Our friends at Datassentials recently dropped their latest research on sauces, dressings, and condiments, and one thing was certain -  There is a huge disconnect between what consumers want and what we're are offering when it comes to signature flavors in the kitchen. Here a a few of the facts:

  • The Consumer Demand: 60% of consumers specifically look forward to getting a signature sauce, condiment, or dressing when they visit a particular restaurant.
  • The Operator Gap: However, only 48% of operators are currently known for having a signature sauce, condiment, or dressing.

  • The Speed-Scratch Solution: Operators don't have to make things from scratch to close this gap. 60% of operators who purchase sauces customize their ready-to-use or speed-scratch bases. Similarly, 56% of operators customize their purchased condiments, and 41% customize their ready-to-go dressings.

  • The Craveability Factor: 83% of operators agree that having the right sauces and dressings is absolutely essential to creating craveable dishes that their customers will love.
