• Weekday Shift Start: 5:00 PM
• Sunday Shift Start: 4:00 PM
• Up to 10 to 12-hour shifts.

Position Summary

The Warehouse Order Selector plays a critical role in ensuring customer orders are accurately selected, assembled, and prepared for delivery in a fast-paced food distribution environment. This position is responsible for safely operating warehouse equipment, utilizing RF technology, maintaining inventory accuracy, and building customer orders according to company quality and food safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately select customer orders using RF scanning technology and warehouse management systems.
• Work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining productivity and accuracy standards.
• Safely operate equipment including electric pallet jacks, forklifts, cherry pickers, and other material handling equipment.
• Identify, locate, and select the correct products and quantities according to order requirements.
• Pick full-case and split-case products as needed.
• Build stable, secure pallets that minimize product damage during transportation and delivery.
• Verify product selections against order documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Transport completed pallets to designated staging areas for loading and shipment.
• Communicate inventory replenishment needs to forklift operators and warehouse leadership.
• Assist with product substitutions and inventory investigations when products are unavailable.
• Load and stack products on trucks to maximize stability, safety, and product integrity.
• Receive inbound shipments as assigned and verify product quantities and condition.
• Inspect products for quality, proper rotation, and expiration dates.
• Rotate inventory using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures.
• Open and break down cartons, boxes, and other packaging materials as required.
• Perform cycle counts and other inventory control functions as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company food safety, quality assurance, OSHA, and warehouse safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Previous warehouse, distribution, order selecting, material handling, or food distribution experience preferred.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment is preferred; certification may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret picking tickets, labels, safety rules, and standard operating procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance when required.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures, including refrigerated and freezer environments when applicable.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced food distribution warehouse environment.
• Frequent interaction with warehouse associates, supervisors, inventory personnel, and transportation teams.
• Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, powered industrial trucks, and varying temperature conditions.
• Requires strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
