Position Summary

The Accounting Intern will gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of Accounting and Finance through departmental rotations, day-to-day support, and special projects. This position will provide exposure to a variety of accounting and financial functions while allowing the intern to develop practical skills, build professional relationships, and contribute to process improvement and organizational initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in structured rotations across various Accounting and Finance teams to gain exposure to different functions, processes, and career paths.
  • Rotate through areas such as Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other Finance and Accounting functions based on business needs.
  • Assist the FP&A team with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Support General Accounting activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close activities, and financial reporting.
  • Assist Accounts Payable with invoice processing, payment activities, vendor inquiries, and account reconciliation.
  • Support Accounts Receivable activities, including customer account maintenance, cash application, billing, collections support, and account reconciliation.
  • Assist with payroll-related activities, reporting, audits, and administrative processes while maintaining confidentiality of employee information.
  • Assist with research, reporting, data analysis, and other accounting and finance activities.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives that support departmental and organizational goals.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining financial reports, spreadsheets, documentation, and other accounting resources.
  • Work with Accounting and Finance team members to gather information, analyze data, and complete assigned projects.
  • Maintain accurate records and appropriately handle confidential financial and employee information.
  • Attend team meetings and participate in learning and development opportunities to gain a broader understanding of Accounting and Finance.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous internship, work, or volunteer experience is helpful but not required.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in Accounting, Finance, or a related business function.
