The Sanitation Associate plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional warehouse environment. This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the warehouse exterior, surrounding grounds, and assigned support areas through routine sanitation, debris removal, and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards, works safely and efficiently in all weather conditions, and helps create a safe and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and customers.

 
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • At least 3 months of work experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to receive and follow directions.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent work ethic.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.
  • Must pass drug screen and physical exam.
  • Must be able to pass a background check
     
Physical Requirements:
  • Work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions. 
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the warehouse exterior.
  • Power wash warehouse entrances and compactor areas as scheduled or needed.
  • Sweep parking lots, smoking areas, dock areas, and assigned interior spaces.
  • Collect and dispose of trash, leaves, wood, and other debris.
  • Empty exterior trash receptacles.
  • Inspect and clean fence lines and surrounding warehouse areas.
  • Mop spills and maintain clean, safe walking surfaces.
  • Clean and maintain assigned safety equipment and facility fixtures.
  • Remove floor labels and adhesive residue from assigned areas.
  • Perform routine cleaning of designated equipment and work areas.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation standards while completing assigned duties.
  • Ability to learn to operate heavy warehouse equipment, such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Must be willing to learn and use a cherry-picker and work in high places (must not be afraid of heights).
  • Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend
  • Must be able to tolerate repetitive lifting
  • Ability to handle product weighing up to 80 lbs.
  • Steel-toe shoes required.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to work through a (+) 8-hour shift
  • Must have normal use of shoulders, arms, wrist, hands, feet and legs.
  • The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds
