Position Summary:

The Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating customer creditworthiness and proactively managing credit risk to support profitable growth. This role partners closely with Sales and Credit to enable strong customer relationships while safeguarding the company’s financial assets through timely, accurate, and well-informed credit decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Evaluation & Decisioning

  • Analyze financial statements, credit reports, trade references, and other relevant data to assess customer credit risk
  • Establish and recommend credit limits and payment terms in alignment with company policy and risk tolerance
  • Identify high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate actions, including credit holds, term adjustments, or escalation

Account Monitoring & Risk Management

  • Monitor existing accounts for changes in risk profile, including payment trends, financial condition, and exposure levels
  • Review and release account holds, balancing risk mitigation with customer experience and business needs
  • Support collections efforts by providing account insights and risk assessments

Customer & Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with Sales to support customer onboarding and provide guidance on credit-related matters
  • Investigate and resolve billing, payment, and account discrepancies in collaboration with internal teams

Reporting, Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer credit files, documentation, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable regulations
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of credit policies, procedures, and reporting

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of experience in credit analysis, accounts receivable, or a related financial role, preferably in a B2B environment
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and credit risk assessment
  • Experience with ERP systems (such as SAP) and credit reporting tools (such as Dun & Bradstreet, TransUnion, or CreditRiskMonitor)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Demonstrates strong ability to interpret financial statements, assess creditworthiness, and evaluate risk using quantitative and qualitative data
  • Applies sound judgment to make timely, accurate credit decisions that balance risk management with business growth objectives
  • Proactively monitors account performance, identifies potential risks, and takes ownership of credit exposure to help reduce delinquency and protect company assets
  • Maintains a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in credit files, documentation, and reporting to support reliable decision-making and compliance
  • Builds effective relationships with Sales and cross-functional teams to support onboarding, resolve issues, and align on credit-related decisions
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to explain credit decisions and influence outcomes
  • Manages multiple priorities and acts with urgency in reviewing credit holds, releases, and requests to support business continuity
  • Identifies opportunities to improve credit policies, procedures, and reporting to enhance efficiency and effectiveness 
  • Balances risk and customer experience, supporting strong relationships while maintaining appropriate credit controls

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
