Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The purpose of the Logistics Coordinator-Safety is responsible for supporting transportation compliance, safety documentation, and logistics operations. This role ensures adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, maintains accurate compliance records, monitors Hours of Service (HOS), and supports shipping and inventory coordination. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

·  Maintain and manage DOT compliance records and documentation

·  Monitor and track DOT compliance requirements, including medical cards, licenses, and certifications

·  Review, audit, and maintain electronic logging device (ELD) data

·  Review, audit, and maintain Samsara event records

·  Assist with safety compliance reporting and documentation

·  Track Hours of Service (HOS) logs and ensure regulatory compliance

·  Prepare reports related to DOT and safety audits

·  Coordinate with drivers and management regarding compliance issues

·  Perform general clerical duties including filing, data entry, scanning, and record keeping as assigned

·  Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems

·  Ensure compliance with transportation regulations

· Maintain accurate records in ERP or logistics systems
· Schedule and track deliveries to ensure on-time performance

·  Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and customers

·  Prepare shipping documents (BOLs, invoices, customs paperwork)

·  Monitor inventory levels and assist with supply planning

·  Resolve shipping delays, damages, or discrepancies

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

·  1–3 years of logistics, shipping, or supply chain experience (preferred)

·  Strong organizational and multitasking skills

·  Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong expertise in Excel.

·  Experience with ERP or logistics management systems

·  Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

·  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

·  Knowledge of freight carriers and transportation regulations

·  Strong analytical skills

·   Knowledge of DOT compliance and regulations 

Physical Requirements:

  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
