Ben E. Keith Foods Announces Plans for Houston Area Facility

Date: December 5, 2007

Ben E. Keith Company will build a food distribution center on approximately 82 acres in the Beltway Crossing Business Park at U.S. 90A and Beltway 8 in Missouri City, on the southwest side of Houston. The size and configuration of the warehouse are now in the planning process. Green building practices and policies will be used whenever possible, combined with state-of-the-art technology and equipment in all areas of the warehouse. Groundbreaking is planned for July 2008, with completion expected for Fall 2009. Mike Roach, President of Ben E. Keith Foods stated, “Missouri City’s location and proximity to the area’s major arteries, including US 59, the Sam Houston Beltway, and the I-10 corridor, align perfectly with Ben E. Keith’s plans to better serve the Houston Area, Gulf Coast Region, and Southern Louisiana.”

Robbie Fish, currently the General Manager of BEK’s San Antonio Division, has been named as the General Manager for the new facility.

Ben E. Keith Foods, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, is the nation’s ninth largest broadline foodservice distributor, and is comprised of six distribution centers servicing eleven states.

NOTE: Ben E. Keith’s Houston facility will have a similar appearance to their Oklahoma facility pictured.
