Breckenridge Brewery
Imagine, if you can, a ski bum who loves to drink beer. It was with Richard Squire, who ended his search for the perfect brew by making his own. As the popularity of his beers grew, Squire spent less time on the slopes and more time brewing beer. Today, his Breckenridge Brewery, which officially got its start in 1990, offers an array of ales, including Avalanche Ale, and Summer Bright Ale; porters in flavors such as vanilla and oatmeal; and at several company-owned pubs and restaurants in and around Denver. Its beers also can be bought in stores in more than some 20 US states, primarily located in the Midwestern US.Learn more about Breckenridge Brewery.

Avalanche Ale
Avalanche Ale is a very nice deep amber color with some yellow and orange highlights and a brilliant clarity. Slightly sweet with a bit of light toffee, the smell of freshly crushed malt and the hops emerges with a somewhat peppery spiciness and floral character that is soft on the palate without much carbonic acid tingle. ABV 5.41%
Trademark Pale Ale
Pale Ale is a nice medium amber brew, with a clear body. A two fingers height rose up over the top and nestled down to a thin head covering the entire surface after just a few moments. A nice well-balanced aroma of light orange mixed with some cereal and earthy grains creates a very balanced and light pale ale smell. There is a hint of apples or other yeast like fruit smells as well hidden way in the back with a caramel sugar topping. The flavor is your classic English pale, with a hint of west coast hops thrown in for good measure. Pale Ale starts with a nice round of grainy-like textures, which morphed well with a caramel sweetness and a nice grassy and earthy type flavor. Pale Ales is a very nice and smooth, medium-bodied pale ale filled with a nice amount of carbonation and still exhibits a bit of a thickness as it goes down. ABV 5.7%
Oatmeal Stout
Oatmeal Stout is black as midnight with just a flash of bright ruby red at the edges of the glass. Lots of roast barley in the flavor, complete with all the coffee and cocoa flavors you expect to find a beer made with roasted unmalted barley. Oatmeal Stout starts out bitter-sweet on the tongue, and the sweetness hangs there nicely right up until the bittering hops make their presence known with a lingering bitterness in the back of the mouth. This is really a delicious glass of beer! ABV 4.95%Small Batch: 471 IPA

471 IPA pours as a clear, orangey color with a creamy, eggshell white, moderate head; it has a good lasting ability and some sporadic lace. Aroma sweet from the tangerine, light orange peel, light pine, dank, wisps of alcohol, and faint notes of biscuits. Flavor is similar with its tangerine, grassy notes, light pine resins, light white grapefruit peel, and a sweet bread note. Palate is medium, lively, and balanced between oily, dry, and crisp and lingering tangerine notes. ABV 9.2%

Small Batch: 471 ESB - Extra Special Bitter
471 ESB pours a deep copper color approaching a rich mahogany color. The thin head quickly dissipated, but does leave small bits of lacing on the glass. A great deal of caramel flavor is evident in this brew with a blast of hops that is not initially expected. Toasted malt also makes an appearance about half way down the beer, but reveals a very nice balanced flavor of hops and malt. The hops take stage first but the sweetness of the caramel flavors tones it down quite a bit. Toasted malt really comes to life as well on the finish. The mouthfeel is actually quite nice and full and with the low carbonation, one experiences a nice bite both on the front and back of the palate. ABV 7.8%
