Butte Creek Brewery

The Butte Creek Brewing Company was built in 1996 in a remodeled 8,500-square-foot warehouse. The Butte Creek Brewery features a 20-barrel brewhouse, four 40-barrel fermentors and one 80-barrel fermentor. Humor is a valuable asset in any business. Butte Creek put its to use by naming the 40-barrel fermentors Chico (an obvious choice), Groucho, Harpo and Zeppo and the 80-barrel Maggie, after Groucho’s wonderful foil, Margaret Dumont. Future expansion was an ever-present thought when the brewery was built, and there is plenty of room for more tanks and equipment.

The Butte Creek Brewing Co. is located at 945 W. Second St., just west of downtown Chico. The brewery offers tours and tastings. For more information please call 530-894-7906.

Blue Marble Organic Pilsner

Blue Marble Organic Pilsner is a light bodied, all malt, pilsner style beer with a crisp European hop finish. The new brand is expected to complement Golden West’s Butte Creek brand of ales and lagers. The Butte Creek brands appeal to purist, craft beer drinkers, while Blue Marble Brewing has been designed to appeal to a broader audience of the fast-growing beer connoisseur marketplace.
