Schneider

Schneider Weisse is a pure natural product without additives or chemical agents. No compromises are made when it comes to the Schneider Weisse ingredients: hops and malt, water and yeast and nothing else. The family has kept this recipe closely guarded to this day and have always passed it on from father to son. The hops for Schneider Weisse grows right at the brewery’s doorstep in the Hallertau region, on independently certified soil that is tendered with care and cultivated in a manner that is steeped with tradition. Today, as in the past, Schneider Weisse beer is still skimmed by hand and allowed to mature by means of the original fourweek long bottle fermentation process; the source of its natural good taste since 1872.

Schneider Weisse Original

Schneider Weisse Original has been brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law since 1872 and is Bavaria’s original wheat beer. The constant mellow flavor of this classic wheat beer can be preserved because of the fine selection of our high quality raw materials, special top-fermenting yeast and traditional bottle fermentation, which is the classical way of wheat beer production.

The Schneider Weisse Original has been brewed according to the original recipe by Georg Schneider I since 1872. With its pure, top-fermenting yeast, Schneider Weisse Original comes
unfiltered and unpasteurized.

Aventinus

Aventinus was introduced in 1907 by Mathilde Schneider, wife of Georg Schneider III. It is named for Johannes Aventinus, the first historian to describe Bavaria and its people. Aventinus is traditionally bottle fermented, unpasteurized and unfiltered with a pure top-fermenting yeast. Deep, tawny in color, sparkling in texture, and complex in flavor, Aventinus is the oldest Bavarian Wheat-Doppelbock.

Georg Schenider's Organic Weisen Edel-Weisse

Georg Schneider’s Wiesen Edel-Weisse was traditionally brewed for the Oktoberfest in Munich. Georg Schneider I designed the original recipe, Georg Schneider IV presented it last to the Munich Oktoberfest, and Georg Schneider VI, along with his renowned team of brew masters, have now revived it after 57 years of dormancy. Since October is quite a cold month, fuller bodied beers are necessary and Wiesen Edel-Weisse was brewed for its warming effects. To balance such a full-bodied beer it was brewed with more hops, resulting in a more noticeable hop character than usually found in hefe weizens. This Schneider Wiesen Edel-Weisse is stronger, lighter in color and hoppier than Schneider Weisse.

Georg Schneider VI has added a modern twist to the Wiesen Edel-Weisse by obtaining organic certification. This means it complies with all production standards in the field. All processing, packing, export and the inspection and control methods meet the organic production standards of the USDA and in Europe, BCS Oeko-Garantie GmbH.

Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse

This unique beer is the result of the long friendship of Schneider brewmaster Hans-Peter Drexler and Brooklyn brewmaster Garrett Oliver. The two brewmasters feel that Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse represents the quality, tradition and terroir of the Bavarian Hallertauer hop region paired with the innovation and creative energy for which Brooklyn is famous. The brewers at The Brooklyn Brewery eagerly await the July visit of Hans-Peter Drexler, when they will create Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse in Brooklyn. This will be a very similar beer, fermented with the Schneider yeast, but it will be dry-hopped with American hops selected by Hans-Peter Drexler.

Appearance: Hazy deep gold with hints of red. Very thick white foam.
Aroma: Intense floral and citrus hop character with banana overtones and slight clove.

Flavor: Focused, snappy bitterness followed by a burst of sweet fruit. Fruit and hop flavors through the center, refreshing wheat acidity, and effusive hop flavors. The finish is semi-dry and clean with hop flavors lingering.

Best With: “I think a perfect thing for it would be salmon done in a Thai curry sauce – not something really, really spicy, but a little bit spicy so you have the classic pairing of a little bit of hop bitterness together with all the kind of tropical aromas that you have going on there, the mango, pineapple, and banana aromas.” – Garrett Oliver, Brewmaster
