Beer is Back on Top

Date: December 5, 2006

After wine’s one-year reign as America’s favorite drink, beer is back on top as the alcoholic beverage of choice. Cox News Service reported in August 2006 that a survey conducted of 1,700 adults in July showed 64 percent of American say they drink alcohol, 41 percent of American drinkers surveyed said they drink beer most often, 33 percent said they drink wine most often, and 23 percent said they drink liquor most often.

August A. Busch IV, who was most recently appointed the position of President and CEO of Anheuser-Busch companies, was recently quoted at an analysts’ conference in Boston as saying, “We believe our core U.S. business is stabilized and returning to growth.”

The trend upward in continuing beer’s position as America’s Beverage continues to grow as new products are produced to satisfy the palette of any consumer. Click on the New Products link to find out more.
